Current Season Meetings

2024-2025 Season

NOTE: All meetings will once again be held on Tuesday evenings

Meetings for the 2024/2025 season will continue to be held in the Main Auditorium of the Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia. 

They will begin at 5:30 pm with a wine-and-cheese reception, followed by a talk at 6:15 pm. 

October 8 - Sibylla Shekerdjiska-Benatova, Curating Books for Rebel Readers

The annual election of officers and board will precede the talk.

November 12 - Kelsey Bates, A Gift to Philadelphia and Beyond: a Vision for the Rosenbach Brothers' Collection

December 10 - Members Show and Tell and Holiday Party 

January 14 - Stuart “Buz” Teacher, with David McKnight, Making Friends: The Story of the Publication of Among Friends: An Illustrated Oral History of Independent Book Selling and Publishing in the 20th Century - A Conversation with the Editor and Publisher

February 11 - John Theibault, The “Album Amicitae” of Jacob Kühnle, Field Surgeon in the Thirty Years War, in Context

March 11 - Regan Kladstrup, Collecting and Dating Childrens' Series Books Published by Cupples and Leon

April 8 - David McKnight, Bits and Pieces: Scrapbooking the Beatles: A Fan’s Passion or Obsession? A Study of Beatles Fandom with Examples from the David McKnight Beatles Collection

May 13 - Dan Kopp, Ein schöner Eindruck: The Pennsylvania German Collection at the Free Library
